Boat Launch

Please read the following rules and submit the form below.

Rules

1. Hours of Operation: The boat launch is open from sunrise to sunset. Launching or retrieving boats outside these hours is prohibited.
2. No Parking Passed the Gate: Vehicles and trailers should be parked only in designated areas located by the Visitor Center. No parking is allowed passed this gate.
3. Boat Size and Type: The launch is intended for small, non-motorized boats, such as canoes, kayaks, and rowboats. All other boats are restricted.
4. Safety Gear: All boaters must have appropriate safety gear, including life jackets for each person on board, as required by state law.
5. Environmental Protection:
   • All visitors must adhere to “pack it in, pack it out” practices. Remove all trash and belongings when leaving.
   • Use of metal detectors or other sensing devices, digging or other ground disturbance, or removal or collection of artifacts, materials, or relics is strictly prohibited. Please notify Historic Germanna if you see any evidence of such activities.
   • Help protect our historical sites by staying on the trails. Do not walk on the Civil War earthworks or walk on or move rocks at any historical building sites.
6. Fishing Regulations: Anglers must comply with local fishing regulations, including any required licenses.
7. Alcohol and Substance Use: The consumption of alcohol or use of illegal substances is prohibited on the premises.
8. Picnicking and Camping: Picnicking is allowed only in established areas. No overnight camping and no fires are allowed.
