As we prepare to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the Second Colony arriving at Germanna at the Germanna Foundation’s 60th annual conference and reunion this July, we are also celebrating the 300th anniversary of Hebron Lutheran Church in Madison, Virginia – all during the 500th anniversary of the Lutheran Reformation.
At Hebron, many of our Germanna colonists married, baptized children, held funerals — and left records that have brought Americans spread across the continent back to their first church home in America.
We hope that you will join us at Hebron on Sunday, April 30th where the congregation will hold a celebratory worship service, followed by a picnic lunch and a presentation on the history of the church and congregation, the historic 1802 Tannenburg Organ, and view exhibits about the 1560 Luther Bible, the Church Glebe Tract, and early German family land patents.
Please find attached the registration form and visit the Hebron Lutheran Church website to purchase some lovely stemless wine glasses, where proceeds will go toward the installation of new church carpet.
