The Germanna Foundation is excited to re-open to the public our Fort Germanna Visitor Center museum and genealogy library. Salubria, however, remains closed.
Our new hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. We are closed on Saturday and Sunday.
In order to protect all staff, volunteers and guests to the Germanna Foundation, masks are required at all times inside the Visitor Center (per Commonwealth of Virginia regulation). Please maintain six feet distance at all times. You are encouraged to wash/sanitize your hands upon entering the Visitor Center-either using our washroom or your own hand sanitizer.
We require those who wish to conduct research to make an appointment ahead of time as we can only have four of people in the library at one time. Contact Ashley Abruzzo (540-423-1700 or [email protected]) to make an appointment and let us know what families, books or history you are interested in so staff can have those materials available on arrival. Research time is restricted to two hours unless arrangements are made in advance. You must bring your own pens, pencils and paper and mask. You will be asked to use hand sanitizer after handling books in the library. Our staff will retrieve all books from the shelves.
For those wishing to visit the museum, only five people at a time can be in that area. We have a lovely Memorial Garden you can visit while you wait if the VC is at capacity.
We are happy to welcome you once again to the Fort Germanna Visitor Center!
