Last Friday, October 27, we achieved a monumental milestone for Historic Germanna, one that has been over a decade in the making. Our Executive Director, Jennifer Hurst Wender, under the guidance of Keith Hoffman, President of the Board of Trustees, signed the conservation easement on Siegen Forest.
The journey leading to this moment involved extensive research, meticulous planning, grant applications, thorough reviews, and thoughtful deliberations to ensure that this step would be in the best interest of Historic Germanna.
But this accomplishment is not just a symbol of preservation; it also brings a meaningful impact to our organization. The grant funds secured through this easement will be instrumental in strengthening Historic Germanna’s quasi-endowment fund, which will now grow to $1 million. It’s a strategic move that ensures our ability to continue preserving and sharing the vibrant history of Germanna with generations to come.
We thank each and every one of you for your ongoing support in our mission to safeguard and celebrate our rich heritage. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting journey!
