For 28 years, thousands of volunteers have gathered at battlefields and historic sites across the nation to participate in the American Battlefield Trust Trust’s Park Day clean-up effort. More than 450,000 cumulative hours of labor have been contributed to projects large and small to keep our nation’s heritage not only preserved, but also pristine.
Historic Germanna will join of this nationwide effort to clean up our historic sites on Saturday April 6 as part of the Trust’s 29th Park Day. Meet us at 9am at Historic Salubria (19173 Salubria Lane, Stevensburg, VA 22741) to spruce up the house and grounds.
Activities will include:
-Cleaning up the Salubria Community Cemetery (clearing brush, picking up deadfall, cutting back saplings)
-Repairing the split-rail fence (digging holes, inserting fence posts)
-Tidying up outside the house (picking up deadfall, raking leaves)
-Tidying up inside the house (sweeping, dusting)
Volunteers should bring themselves, work gloves, and any tools you may have to complete the above tasks.
As a special thank you for your help, all volunteers will receive a free, behind-the-scenes tour of Salubria with Historic Germanna staff.

We hope to see you there!
