Hebron Lutheran Church in Madison, VA, the oldest Lutheran Church in continuous use in the United States and founded by members of the 1717 Second Germanna Colony before they arrived in Virginia, is celebrating its tricentennial in 2017.
Hebron Church leaders have been hard at work on events commemorating the founding, and have worked closely with the Germanna Foundation, as many of our members are descended from early Hebron members.
Sunday, April 30, 2017 has been set aside for the celebration. Germanna members are heartily welcome to participate.
AGENDA
8:30 – 10:30 am: Registration check-in with coffee and donuts
11:00 am: Celebration Worship Service, ELCA Presiding Bishop Elizabeth Eaton, Guest Preacher Assisted by Virginia Synod Bishop James Mauney and Hebron Pastor Patricia Covington
1:00 pm: Box Lunch – Fried chicken and sides
2:00 pm: Presentations
- History of the church and congregation by Rev. William Hall, Hebron Pastor, 1970-1980
- Hebron’s 1802 Tannenburg Organ by George Taylor, Taylor & Boody Organbuilders

Cost is $15 per person if you register before March 15; $20 per person if you register before April 15; and $25 if you register after April 15.
